SCHS Yuma Campus

Families across Yuma looking for a flexible, tuition-free high school option can find meaningful support at the Student Choice High School Yuma Campus. We serve students who need credit recovery, a second chance through dropout recovery, or a smaller academic setting focused on helping them earn an accredited high school diploma.

About SCHS Yuma Campus

The SCHS Yuma Campus is part of the Student Choice High School network, which has been serving Arizona students since 2000. As a public charter high school, we provide a tuition-free education for students in grades 9–12, including young adults up to age 22 who are working toward graduation.

Our campus operates Monday through Friday with two daily sessions: 7:15–11:15 a.m. and 11:45 a.m.–3:45 p.m. Students attend one of these structured blocks and complete coursework using a standards-based online curriculum aligned with Arizona graduation requirements. Certified teachers are present during each session to provide direct academic assistance, monitor progress, and support student learning.

Unlike large traditional campuses, our smaller setting allows staff to work closely with students. We track credit completion carefully and hold regular academic check-ins to keep students focused on their graduation timeline. Students earn credits based on demonstrated mastery of course material, not just time spent in class.

We also provide free Chromebook access for enrolled students, allowing them to complete coursework both on campus and at home as needed.

For students age 16 and older who previously stepped away from high school or are simply interested in transferring to our program, our dropout or credit recovery pathway provides an opportunity to return and pursue a traditional diploma rather than a GED. Our team reviews transcripts, identifies completed coursework, and builds a personalized graduation plan that clearly outlines remaining requirements.

Tim Morrison
The Yuma Campus is led by Principal Tim Morrison, an experienced school leader dedicated to student success. He brings a strong background in secondary education and focuses on building a campus culture centered on accountability, respect, and steady academic growth.

Principal Morrison works directly with teachers to maintain consistent academic standards while providing individualized support to students. He believes that when students are given clear expectations and practical guidance, they are more likely to complete credits and graduate.

Under his leadership, the Yuma Campus emphasizes structured learning sessions, ongoing progress monitoring, and open communication with families.

Student Choice High School Programs for Yuma Students

At the SCHS Yuma Campus, students can enroll in programs tailored to their academic needs.

  • Traditional Alternative Education

Our Traditional Alternative Education program blends structured on-campus instruction with online coursework. Students attend scheduled sessions, receive guidance from certified teachers, and work at a pace that reflects their academic performance.

This model supports students who benefit from individualized instruction and a flexible learning format. It also allows motivated students to complete coursework efficiently and build momentum toward graduation.

  • Credit Recovery Program

The Credit Recovery Program is designed for students who are behind in required credits. Instead of repeating full semesters, students focus specifically on the courses needed for graduation.

Our staff evaluates transcripts and creates a targeted course plan that addresses outstanding requirements. With consistent teacher involvement and a structured schedule, students can make measurable progress toward earning their diploma.
