Credit Recovery Program
For over 20 years, Student Choice High School has provided an alternative option to traditional high schools. We offer a flexible and supportive environment for students who need a different approach to earning their diploma. With flexible scheduling, students can make up classes, work at their own pace, and even graduate early. Our free dropout recovery program is designed for students ages 16–21+ who seek a more personalized educational experience. At our Learning Centers, students receive the individual attention and resources they need to succeed, empowering them to take control of their education, and achieve their goals.
Learning Centers
By establishing Learning Centers co-located with community organizations, we have designed a program to assist students with recovering their high school credits and to provide an environment where students can successfully complete new courses on a manageable, self-paced, individual learning plan. This program quickly builds student confidence and encourages successful completion of courses and academic success through:
- Concentrated mentoring and academic coaching
- Individualized learning plans
- Blended learning that offers self-directed choices
- Schedule flexibility
Online Learning Center
This program is designed for students who are 18–21 and are seeking a flexible, fully online way to earn their high school diploma. Everything has been designed to assist students 100% virtually from enrollment to graduation. Our staff is trained in adult learning techniques to offer students the most effective support system possible. Extended evening and weekend hours will give students the help they need when they need it most. Whether a student needs academic, mentoring, or tutoring support, our staff will connect with students via phone calls, messaging, email, text, and virtual meetings. This program was designed with the adult student in mind! We pride ourselves in being just one click away and serving alongside each student in their educational journey toward graduation.
Overcoming Barriers
Students attending our Dropout Recovery Programs often experience many barriers in their lives that prevent completion of their high school diploma, or they have circumstances that prevent them from keeping up with their schooling. Many of our students face challenges such as:
- Living with their parents/guardians as the ”breadwinners” of the family
- Living with extended family, foster homes, group homes, or even homeless
- Being parents themselves, which adds significant responsibilities and schedule pressures
These barriers are just a few of the reasons the hybrid Dropout Recovery Program is necessary in virtually every community. In short, the Student Choice Dropout Recovery Program gives these students a chance to be successful in high school and beyond.
