Alternative High School in Arizona

Student Choice High School is the #1 choice for alternative high schools in Arizona. SCHS campuses offer students ages 14-21 a learning environment and teaching style that is different from those of a traditional high school. Students access our free, standards–based, online curriculum and participate in a self-paced, four-hour session with highly qualified personnel. Through this alternative high school approach, we help our students succeed in high school and in life.

Traditional Campuses

SCHS campuses are intentionally small, offering a personalized and focused learning environment. We create a supportive, welcoming setting where each student can thrive. Our inviting atmosphere, combined with new computers, advanced technology, and innovative teaching methods, encourages consistent growth and learning.

Standards Based Online Curriculum

Upon enrollment, our highly qualified staff assesses SCHS students to determine their current skill level. Our teachers provide students with computer–assisted instruction that allows them to work at their own pace and skill level. We provide the following technology infrastructure on each of our campuses:

  • State-of-the-art computers to support an online learning environment
  • 24/7 curriculum access for both staff and students

Students focus on their own academic progress and credit recovery in an independent, self-directed environment. Whether they need extra time to master a subject or wish to accelerate their coursework, our self-paced method gives students the opportunity to graduate with or ahead of their peers.

Personalized Graduation Plans

Upon enrollment, Student Choice administrators develop a student–specific learning and graduation plan. This roadmap puts students back on track to earn their diploma while building the skills needed for a successful transition to post-secondary endeavors.

Students actively collaborate on their graduation plan, allowing them to work toward their goals with clear, measurable steps.

  • We help students advance their education and develop career-ready skills based on their unique interests.
  • We invite representatives from all branches of the military, trade schools, community colleges, state universities, and local businesses to speak with our students throughout the school year.
  • Our guidance counselors meet with each student regularly to provide personalized support and prepare them for life after high school.
