Meet Principal Freeman

Principal Freeman

Amy Freeman joined Student Choice High School as the principal of the Glendale Campus in 2019 following service within the Phoenix Elementary School District as an instructional coach and then vice principal. Her career spans over 25 years and includes many years of teaching, school leadership, and state and district curriculum writing and assessment endeavors. Additionally, she is an adjunct faculty member at Rio Salado in the Teacher Certification Department supporting post-baccalaureate adult learners in their drive to become certified teachers.

Amy Freeman received her bachelor’s degree from State University of New York College at Cortland. Over the years, she has earned additional state endorsements as a reading and gifted specialist as well as her master’s degree from Northern Arizona University with a specialization in educational counseling. In her quest to serve as a school administrator, she most recently was awarded her K–12 Arizona Principal certification.

Her educational experiences have afforded her the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse group of people and to increase student achievement and well-being. Her educational philosophy is based on her uncompromising belief that all students can learn given a positive learning environment; strong and knowledgeable leadership; and a committed, student-focused educational team that remembers Joshua J. Marine’s words, “Challenges are what make life interesting. Overcoming them is what makes life meaningful.”
